Our Latest Projects

Sunstone Projects Ltd. has come a long way since its inception in 1994. Under the direction of Barry Bauhuis, Sunstone has expanded into a partnership of talented and experienced partners with a vested interest in the growth and prosperity of the company. Because of their dedicated efforts in creating an engineering company of extraordinary design capabilities, Sunstone is now the EPCM company of choice in these exciting new projects.

 

   
The Harmattan Co-Stream Project – NG & HVP Pipelines

Sunstone is proud to participate in the development, regulatory processing, design and implementation of the Harmattan Co-Stream Project, for both its natural gas and HVP pipeline components. This project is developed by Harmattan Gas Processing Limited Partnership (HGPLP), by its general partner, Taylor Processing Inc, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of AltaGas Ltd.

The overall Harmattan Co-Stream Project encompasses modifications required at the Harmattan Gas Plant, connecting natural gas pipelines and a propane delivery pipeline.
     
 
The Taylor to Boundary Lake Pipeline – Beatton River Pipeline Replacement Project


This Provident Energy Pipeline Inc. project is an approximately 43 kilometers long, natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline, extending from Taylor, BC to Boundary Lake, Alberta. The project includes a crossing of the Beatton River and modifications to the existing pump station at Taylor, BC.
 
     
   

The Kakwa Storage Project

The Kakwa Storage Project, developed by Pembina Pipeline Corporation, includes four 380 meters long tubes (NPS 54) with inlet/outlet metering and transfer pumping into the Pembina Deep Basin Mainline.

     
 

The Vantage Pipeline Project

Sunstone is proud to offer our extensive engineering design experience to the proposed Vantage Pipeline Project, a high vapour pressure (HVP) pipeline carrying ethane from a source near Tioga, North Dakota, U.S.A., extending northwest, through Saskatchewan, Canada, and terminating near Empress, Alberta, Canada. This approximately 700 kilometers long pipeline will connect a growing supply of ethane from North Dakota to markets in Alberta.

     
 

Alberta's First CO2 Pipeline System: The Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL)

Enhance Energy Inc. - a Calgary-based energy resources development company - is currently developing Alberta's First CO2 Pipeline system, ACTL, which will connect the Alberta Heartland Industrial Region to the oil production fields south-east of Clive, Alberta. Sunstone Projects is proud to have participated to the design and regulatory processing of this new pipeline system. The project has received ERCB approval in April 2011.
