Barry Bauhuis, P. Eng., President
With twenty-two years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Bauhuis specializes in the area of pipeline transportation systems with an excellent technical understanding of pipeline design and operations. Mr. Bauhuis has acted as the manager of numerous pipeline and facilities projects from conceptual design to optimization of existing operations.
Mr. Bauhuis has an extensive background in project management, design and construction management of pipelines, compressors, pump stations, NGL storage facilities, truck terminals and other related facilities. He has participated in several projects dealing with integrity assessment of existing facilities and the retrofit of new equipment to upgrade or extend the useful life of a system. Mr. Bauhuis has also been involved with several projects relating to the design and construction of oil and gas lines from Canada's Beaufort Sea region.
Internationally, Mr. Bauhuis has been involved with several projects, including large-diameter gas pipelines in the Middle East and project development work on new and existing oil and gas pipelines in South America.
As President of Sunstone Projects Ltd. since 1994, Mr. Bauhuis is responsible for all aspects of management, marketing, administration, and engineering designs for the company.
David Wells, Procurement Specialist
Mr. Wells has over thirty years of experience in materials and contracts management on both domestic and international projects. Mr. Wells brings to Sunstone a strong background in contracting strategy, contract development, and administration in project cost estimating. Throughout his career, he has worked on many large international projects. With Sunstone, Mr. Wells has provided cost estimating, procurement services, project control, and material handling services on numerous pipeline and facility projects throughout Canada, the Middle East, and South America.
Susan Saurette, P. Eng, Lead Engineer and Project Manager
Ms. Saurette is a professional engineer with over twenty years of progressive experience with large and mid-sized companies in the oil and gas industry. She specializes in project management, engineering design and operations optimization. Ms. Saurette has held various leadership roles for teams of up to forty professionals in a leading energy company. She has a proven track record for completing projects on time and within budget, as well as an ability to forge strong working relationships and lead teams to deliver optimum results. As Lead Engineer for Sunstone, Ms Saurette has been involved in several heavy oil and gas projects that required her technical expertise in pipelines station design.
Arnold Bell, P. Eng., Lead Engineer and Project Manager
Mr. Arnold Bell is a seasoned professional engineer with over sixteen years of diversified petroleum industry experience, primarily in the areas of field operations, technical support, pipeline operations, project management, design engineering, and production/reservoir engineering. Mr. Bell utilizes strong analytical, decision-making and management skills to produce results and functions well in demanding environments. Mr. Bell is an enthusiastic, hard working professional, yet is easy to get along with. As Lead Engineer with Sunstone, Mr. Bell has successfully completed several heavy oil storage projects, NGL truck terminals and numerous oil and gas gathering systems. These projects benefited from his ability to develop teamwork across organizational boundaries.
